In the second year of my fine art degree I made four costumes that my friends inhabited while I filmed them dancing. I was inspired by late-nineties-early-noughties children's television programs, especially their use of hyperbole, comfort, and (lack of) sexuality. |

The video was shortlisted for the Majlis Travelling Scholarship. In the exhibtion I converted the original costumes into beanbags for the viewer to sit on while watching.Some of these pictures scroll sideways ----> |

I showed the video alongside my final plaster works for our grad show at the end of 2014. It won the Chin Chin Wall of Art Award.
In 2015 the video was projected from Chin Chin restaurant to the neighbouring laneway every night for the month of November. I extended the video from three minutes to ten, removed the sound, and experimented a bit more with the editing (and reduced the penis - there wasn't to be too much penis). |
