who makes the pots?
i do. this is a one (wo)man operation.

how do you make the pots?
most of my pots are handbuilt by coiling, but i have begun to wheelthrow more pots recently. additionally, i mix most of my own glazes, largely from existing recipes, and then fire my pots in my own kiln. midfire temperatures are my favourite due to them being the sweetspot where colour vibrancy and material strength meet.

i never make the same pot twice. this means some will have minor flaws, however, i take this into account and adjust the price on these pots.

how long do you take to make your pots?
if all goes to plan, each pot usually takes about a month to make. making, drying, firing, glazing, and firing again is a lengthy, frustrating, and expensive process.

how do you package them for shipping?
i wrap each item in a length of paper or plastic bubble wrap until the pot is protected with a thick, cushioned layer. this is then suspended in disolvable packing peanuts inside a cardboard box.

i will always pack the pots as economically as possible - i am never willing to pay AusPost more than necessary - so this might mean orders with multiple pots may come in a series of small boxes or one large one. if you dislike shipping companies as much as i do, and live nearby, you're always welcome to pick the pot up from my place in brunswick west or studio in brunswick (and i will refund your shipping fee after pick up).

do you take commissions?
no, not at the moment as experimentation is big component in all of my work. furthermore, commissions are difficult as often my pots fail at some point during the making process, meaning i will likely have to make a commission piece twice, or even thrice. also, the results of an end work are often unpredictable - you and i are much more likely to be disappointed with a commission.

who are you?
my name is olivia, i am 32 years old and live in melbourne where i was born. this is my main job as well as making puppets and props and puppeteering.
